Christmas in Paris

We cannot celebrate Christmas without thinking of Christmases Past.  Although Christmas usually finds us snug in our sweet beds in Malibu, we have also spent it in other places like Venice, Las Vegas, Arizona at the Boulders, Taos and our most magical one at the El Rancho Motel in Gallup New Mexico.  (more about that on another day). But today we want to share Christmas 2009 with you.  Just a few days before Christmas we suddenly  decided we wanted to spend Christmas in Paris. We had been there before for Christmas, arriving the day after Christmas and staying into the New Year, but this time, we wanted to enjoy the anticipation and sparkling build up to the Big Day! Luckily, we were able to book first class seats on Air France (using our miles even!!) and book our favorite room at the Ritz!  We were taking a special passenger with us, Jetset Romeo!!  Even through the weather report predicted rain every day, we decided to go anyway, knowing we could be happy if we just stayed in the hotel all day!   AS it turned out, it only rained at night, like in Camelot!  Here are photos of that memorable trip.  Truly it is one of my favorites ever!

Hanging out with Jetset Romeo in the Air France First Class Lounge. We are going to Paris for Christmas!

We have arrived!

We usually have dinner on our first night in Paris at Le Dome.

Where we start with lobster salad followed by the best dover sole in the world!

After dinner we headed back to the Place Vendome for a little window  shopping. Tony wants to go to Charvet and Alfred Dudhill tomorrow!

Santa Baby,  maybe you can bring me this beautiful emerald, pearl and diamond necklace if I promise to be a  Really good girl next year!  And Santa, maybe you could bring that bracelet too!

Back  at the Ritz. I did not pose Romeo for this photo. He just found that spot he wanted for himself!

Tony is getting fitted for pajamas at Charvet!

Romeo was cold in Paris but we found him the perfect puffer jacket at Roberto Cavalli!

Romeo struts his new outfit while I find shoes I love at Roger Vivier.  They say God Save the Queen!

I am not sure what Tony is thinking but I think Romeo is thinking  oo-la-la!  Bad boys are the most fun!

Hermes

Caron

I love Pierre Cardin

Lanvin

This incredible gift from the Ritz, a chocolate teddy bear, was delivered on Christmas Eve to our room!

Time for Christmas Eve dinner.  This is a Versace coat and Cavalli bracelet.

We always go to The Cristal Room but it was extra perfect for Christmas Eve. The interiors were designed by Philipe Stark.  Guy Martin is the executive chef. All the chandeliers and crystal in the room and on the table are Baccarat.  And they treated Romeo like he was Louis XIV!

Look at the amazing restroom! Men and women share the lavatory area. Can you see that beautiful mirrored sink table. This is a really good place to take selfies!

Happy as can be, we arrived back at the Ritz to walk down their aisle of dreams  and pose in front of one of the Christmas trees.

I love to watch the lights on the Eiffel Tower sparkle and see what is happening over at Chanel from our room.

We all love croissants at the Ritz. Romeo is a big fan of room service. Every morning he sits on the bed and stares at the door waiting for it to arrive.

A Christmas day walk

A stop at Notre Dame seemed like a good idea!

I loved this decorating idea at the Hotel Meurice

Tony is looking pretty debonaire!  It looks like our car just arrived!

On our way to the Tour Eiffel for Christmas night dinner at Jules Verne.

This photo is taken in the special elevator at the Eiffel Tower that takes your up to Jules Verne.

Tony loves to consult with the sommelier. I always take photos of him doing this!

Merry Christmas Darling!

Here is the stunning view of Paris from our table!

Romeo in Paris!

I love this photo of all of us together.

Resting up after our big walk. Time to go to Switzerland.

What’s for dinner? Fondue! When this huge pot arrived we thought we could never eat it all that but we Did!

Time to go home!

What a perfect little Christmas trip we had! Here’s to you, Darling!
